Halloween Curfew

The Police Department will enforce a curfew for the evening of October 31, 2014 that would prohibit all young persons under the age of 18 years from being on the streets, avenues, parks and public right of ways within the City of Watervliet from 10 pm October 31 to 6 am November 1, 2014.

Holiday Garbage Pickup

There will be no Garbage/Recycles picked up Tuesday, November 4 and Tuesday, November 11, due to the Election Day and Veteran’s Day holidays. Residents in Section 2 (Tuesday pick up) are urged to put their garbage and recycles out Tuesday night for a Wednesday pick up. All other sections of the city will remain the same this holiday week.

Watervliet in Top 20 Cities in NYS on the Rise

The City of Watervliet came in at #8 on consumer finance site NerdWallet’s list of the top 20 cities in New York State on the rise. To compile this list they looked at growth of working-age population, employment and income.

Citywide Hydrant Flushing

The City of Watervliet’s Water Department will be conducting the annual Fall Flushing of the city's waterlines. The flush will run from October 8 to November 28, 2014.

If you notice any discoloring of your water, we ask that you run your water for 5 minutes. If after 5 minutes you still have discolored water we ask that you call the Water Department at 785-7082.
