Responsibilities Include:
Highway Maintenance, repair, and management of all City streets, roads, alleys, and public right of ways, where applicable. Maintenance includes: resurfacing and paving, snow and ice control, plowing, and debris control.
Additional Duties Include:
- Traffic: The construction and maintenance of all street signs and traffic control signs in the City. Also, all pavement markings, crosswalks, and all aspects of the Pavement Marking Program.
- Solid Waste Management: Removal of biodegradable yard waste material on a weekly basis from the 5,000 dwelling units in Watervliet and proper disposal in an organic landfill/mulch center. Also, removal and disposal of misc. debris, appliances and furniture from homes throughout the City.
- Park Maintenance: Responsible for grass cutting and shrub maintenance in all parks and coordinates with Recreation Administrator for all other park maintenance activities and tasks.
- Water System Maintenance: Coordinates with Water System Director to provide manpower and equipment support for all Water System emergencies and substantial repairs.
