Visioning Statement for the City of Watervliet

"In the coming decades, the City of Watervliet will be an inviting city for young professionals and others to work in and raise their families. The City will attract these families to Watervliet by providing a variety of shops, improved parks and recreational areas, clean and safe streets, first-rate competitive schools and a zoning plan that works for the residents and business owners of the City. With very limited developable land, the City will encourage new businesses and new home owners to redevelop and refurbish residential and commercial uses in ways that both preserve the historical nature of the city and welcome people who want to stop and explore the City’ many resources."

The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee conducted a Visioning Workshop to ask residents of the city for their views on three subjects. What Do You Like About Watervliet; What Would You Like To See Changed in Watervliet; and What Would You Like Watervliet to Be in Fifteen Years.
