Corporation Counsel

Brian Kremer, the City of Watervliet Corporation Counsel, provides legal assistance and guidance to the Mayor, City Council and General Manager. He coordinates and defends all actions and proceedings involving the City. In addition, he negotiates and prepares legal documents such as contracts, agreements, deeds, leases, etc., and also negotiates collective bargaining agreements and other labor matters.

It is also his responsibility to develop and assist in the drafting of proposed legislation, rules, regulations, and policies for City programs and operations; to review information and actions of other governments to assess the impact on the City; and to serve as Counsel to various municipal Boards.
